MICHELLE VAN DER SANDT

I’m a 20 something year old hairstylist from Stellenbosch, South Africa. I’ve only been in the industry for 8 years, but I have always been a hairdresser at heart.

Apart from everything hair, I have been passionate about business for quite some time and this year I was priveleged enough to combine both interests and open up my very own salon, Blunt Hair Studio.

I completed my education at the International Academy of Hairdressing in Cape Town and have always been passionate about learning more. I have completed multiple courses and I am currently enrolled to study as a Master Colorist through Matrix.

My studio is called Blunt and I have always thought this name is the perfect depiction of who I am, as a person and as a stylist, so it goes without saying that creating the perfect blunt cut with my beautiful Kyone Scissor is definitely one of my all time favorites, I am also very passionate about creating seamless color effects with specific techniques like foiliage and free hand painting.

Being a hairdresser brings me endless amounts of joy, I can not imagine a life without such a fulfilling passion.

I hope to inspire other stylist to learn and to grow as much as they possibly can, and I believe with the overwhelming support of the hairdressing community one can only achieve great things with all things hair.
